Ottos on the River in Augusta

This place right above the Kennebec river in Augusta is a real gem,the food was a ten as was the wait staff,love the decor...the duck breast and the stuffed Haddock was over the top, i took pictures on the way out for all of you to enjoy like i did,Galo 3rd.

This was was way better than expected on Monday night. Pasta was cooked perfectly al dente. Chicken and ravioli also cooked perfectly. Waiter had fun with us testing me on good or bad wine samples. Nice guy. This place had very very good food.

One of the best dishes I've tasted in my life. Friendly people and great food. Cant ask for more.

The Lounge & Patio are the best places to sit and enjoy cocktails with your friends. It's not like a traditional bar, it's very homey & cozy. Now that it's warmer, I'll definitely be out on the deck to enjoy the views of the Kennebec River!

Found Otto's to be a hip, unique not ordinary Augusta eatery. With a simple, not overwhelming wine and a dinner menu. It allows you taste, smell and feel the unique flavors of their appetizers and entree to which they have paired them to the wines that they offer in a clean bistro chic dining experience.

Such an elegant experience and so delicious! This is now one of Central Maine’s highest class restaurants! We are so happy that we stopped in and will revisit very often. Well done, well done!

This is without question the Augusta-Hallowell areas most elegant establishment. Outstanding service in a very comfortable, cozy environment. Very nice menu, although a few items overpriced considering their simplicity. Easy access and exit for everyone.

The lobster all I got was all little tiny legs that look like a Lobster Hamburg. The chips were not good. And for the price I feel like I deserved real lobster meat not a bunch of little squiggly legs. My sister's Augusta steak and cheese was soaked in Grease, inedible.

Outstanding lunch and excellent service! Will certainly return.

Elegance flavoured by comfort, Try to finish the pork chops you'll be gladden

A must go too place.Went last night, my phone was dead. But we went. We didn't know we knew the owners but that didn't matter.We absolutely loved the atmosphere, appetizers, entree's desert and service.Well worth the money. I am very frugal but wasn't that night. What a wonderful suggestion from a friend and now I suggest you go and have a great time.

Came here for date night (July 2019). Bacon wrapped scallops were good; bacon a little over cooked though. I got seafood stuffed haddock; yum! We had a good experience, however it wasn’t “amazing”.

Likely the best fine dining restaurant in Augusta. Service was excellent and timely. Chef/owner came out to make sure our group was getting good service and good food.

The decor is lovely and our waitress was very nice and efficient. Unfortunately, our food was just okay. The blueberry walnut salad sounded great, but was served too cold and was almost tasteless. The chicken cordon bleu was undercooked, and the restaurant was kind enough to cook it more and to comp it. However, the reheated serving was also not palatable. I wish that I could recommend this restaurant--we really wanted to like it and to be "wowed."

Not a bad place, food was alright . Just seems like the staff puts no effort in to making the guest feel welcome.

Very friendly staff. Really cool decor. Great drink specials. The menu is unique and priced reasonably. We had the duck wings. Cook perfectly! Loved it.

The meal was big as its flavor. Nice portions and friendly service.

Highly recommend! The food is excellent. We arrived sort of late (they close at 9:00 and we got there around 8:15) but they happily accommodated us.

Food tasted great, beer was cold, and the help/owners were very friendly. Portions a little lean if you're super hungry.

We stopped by on our last day before returning to Michigan. Of course we had some fried clams and lobster earlier in the week. But this was the meal to seal the deal on a good short trip to Maine.

I was disappointed that our of the few items that they had on their menu, only one was dairy free. To their credit, they did alter a recipe for me to make it dairy free. I'm not sure they were successful as dinner bothered my stomach. I asked for fingerling potatoes in place of the root vegetable mash, which they assured me probably had milk or cream in it. I got a serving of garlic spinach instead. What?? And 3 asparagus stocks. Really?? I don't know Otto's, I think we could do better.

We happened to visit Otto's on a Saturday night during a snowstorm and, amazingly, had the place nearly to ourselves so the atmosphere was nice and quiet and service was very quick. The food was good, I had the Marsala which had incredible flavor. My husband had the seafood chowder, which he said was good but could've used a bit more seafood. Bread, salad and dessert were all fantastic. Will definitely return.

Had lunch with 2 others. One had a burger. Waiter didn't ask if he wanted any condiments, so none were served. He asked for cheese which wasn't melted. My other friend had the steak sandwich which lacked seasoning. I had the chicken Cobb wrap which also lacked seasoning and flavor. Each plate had very few chips on the plate with a quarter slice of pickle. I wasn't impressed with the food. The service was good and the staff was friendly. I won't hurry back.

Place is really a hit or miss more being a miss. Been going for over a year now. Last meal was cordon bleu with risotto, which the chicken was cold in middle and risotto wasn't fresh. For the price and food being off more than often, wouldn't recommend this place. It's to bad but tables aren't getting turned over enough to keep food fresh and on point

If you want to have a phenomenal dining experience unbelievably fabulous food, try this place! Otto's on the River is amazing! From start to finish I could not stop raving about everything! Great service too 🙂 My new favorite spot.

Beautiful atmosphere but the food was such a let down! Everything was so bland. It was like the chef has never heard of any spices. Not even salt or pepper. For the price it should have been an amazing meal and it was no where near the value. I was extremely disappointed and won’t be back

A delightful lunch. As we were traveling through the area we chose to get off of 95 to try a non chain restaurant. Orton's was great. Unique decor, and an interesting riverfront area. Public parking lot was ample.

Great meal, wine, and appetizers. Go bold and try the steak tartare, its delicious!

In any State, Otto's food is a 10! Relaxed atmosphere. I over dressed. The food took a while to come out but after you taste it you know why.

Beautiful and comfortable setting. Menu was interesting but preparation was disappointing in that it was too salty and over cooked for our palette. Exception were the duck wings and baked brie appetizers which were very good.
